DALER MEHNDI SENTENCED TO 2 YEARS IN JAIL FOR 2003 HUMAN TRAFFICKING CASE





Daler Mehndi who was granted bail in 2003 for Human trafficking case has been charged again with strong evidence from the court on further investigation. In his defence, he said that he will file a case in High Court. Daler Mehendi with his brother Samsher was convicted for 2 years for Human Trafficking. He spoke to a popular daily saying that he is innocent and the court has wrongly convicted him. He was charged with sending individuals abroad illegally through dancing troupes. According to the court, 35 individuals were sent illegally to the USA and dropped off. It has been said that Mehndi brothers took two troupes to the USA once in 1998(dropped of 10 individuals in San Francisco and in 1999(dropped of 2 individuals in New Jersey.) Two petitions were filed for his innocence but were upheld as further investigation needed. The court now charges the Mehndi brothers for 2 years of imprisonment.
